Richard Meier

Hoje falaremos sobre uma obra do arquiteto moderno Richard Meier. Richard Meier, na sua arquitetura, teve grande inspiração em Le Corbusier, Frank Lloyd Wright dentre outros grandes arquitetos.

Today we will talk about a work of modern architect Richard Meier. Richard Meier, in its architecture, took great inspiration from Le Corbusier, Frank Lloyd Wright among other great architects.

 A obra em que escolhemos para falar desse arquiteto é a famosa Smith House, construída em Connecticut (1965-1967), trabalhada através de volumes puros. Meier utiliza-se da sua mesma fórmula nessa obra, utilizando de uma paisagem natural e instalando nesta um volume branco com vidro.  Sendo assim arquiteto consegue harmoniosa integração com a natureza.

The work we choose to speak this architect is the famous Smith House, built in Connecticut (1965-1967), worked through pure volumes. Meier uses his same formula in this work, using a natural landscape and installing this one volume with white glass. Thus architect can harmonious integration with nature.

A área privada da casa, dormitórios e cozinha, está voltada para floresta e estrada e está situada no lado da entrada para a residência.

The private area of the house, bedrooms and kitchen, is facing forest and road and is located on the side of the entrance to the residence;

A área “pública” nos três níveis está rodeada inteiramente por janelas que integra espaço interno e externo.

The "public" in the three levels is entirely surrounded by windows that integrates internal and external space.

Os mobiliários modernos dão harmonia no interior da casa.

Richard Meier utiliza muito a cor branca, ele tem uma citação muito interessante referente a suas obras: "O branco está sempre presente, mas nunca é o mesmo: brilhante e instável durante o dia; prateado e efervescente debaixo da lua. (...) O branco é luz (...)." Isto demonstra a versatilidade da cor, que obtém tons diferentes acompanhando a natureza."

Richard Meier uses very white, he has a very interesting quote regarding his works: "White is always present, but never the same: bright and unstable during the day; silver and sparkling under the moon. (... ) The white light is (...). "This demonstrates the versatility of color tones that obtained following the different nature. "

É importante ressaltar como essa obra nos mostra que o uso do branco, de volumes puros e do vidro deixam a obra mais simples porém sem perder  sua elegância e funcionalidade! 

Importantly, as this work shows that the use of white, pure volumes and glass leave the work simpler but without losing its elegance and functionality!
